Tenjin

Tenjin-sama was once a famed human scholar named Sugawara no Michizane, who lived from 845-903. He is famous for his poetry, love of plum blossoms, and tragic end. Due to political intrigue, he was placed in exile, and his death was thought to have brought his ghost's curse upon the capitol. He was then deified to placate him, although his wrathful side is less emphasized nowadays.
